The exhibit; designed for children 3 and older; consists of 19 interactive stations where visitors learn about the properties of light and why we see color and mirror images.

¤Flying Solo” is a faith-based; independent family film that is being produced locally with a cast and crew of volunteer local talent and Lamar students.
The film is a 90-minute comedy-drama set in a small city and featuring original songs composed by Reginald Cooper of the Jazz Innovators.
Dances are choreographed by Winetta Roy; Tina Simpson; Danielle Brown; and Shana Logan.
The story follows an aspiring singer/songwriter who relocates to Texas with her aunt and younger siblings where she is challenged to conquer her fears and follow her dreams.

Celebrate Independence Day with barbeque; a Cajun band and an alligator wrangling competition; at 3 p.m.
Alligator wrestlers have 15 minutes to wrangle and tag gators in a pond filled with 80 alligators. The one with the most tagged alligators wins. The first round starts at 3 p.m.; round two is at 7 p.m.
At 4 p.m.; Gator Country pros wrestle Kong; the 12-foot; 900-pound alligator; out of his pond and onto the runway. Cajun Harmony will perform 3-7 p.m.
There will be a fireworks show at dark; followed by a flashlight walk around the park where visitors can learn what alligator eyes look like in the dark. Bring lawn chairs and flashlights.
