Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum blows a replica oil well gusher. Re-enactors in period attire perform to original music.
The gusher blows to more than 160 feet to commemorate the discovery of the Lucas Gusher. The Lucas Gusher oil well blew on January 10, 1901 and marked the beginning of the Spindletop oil boom.
The gusher re-enactment lasts about ten minutes. Wear a swimming suit and bring a towel.
