Beaumont Habitat for Humanity organized an interdenominational build to bring together members of various churches to build one Habitat house. Construction begins Sep. 10 and continues each Saturday as needed.

Admission: Adult and children’s reserved seating tickets are $12 and $25; children aged 2 and under are free as long as they sit on someone’s lap. Each CBR ticket includes free admission to the South Texas State Fair on the day of the event. The show is at 8 p.m. and doors open at 7 p.m. each night.
Four-time World Champion Bull Rider and president of the CBR Tuff Hedeman showcases the world’s toughest bulls versus the top contenders for the 2005 CBR world championship title. Contenders include reigning CBR world champion Austin Meier, 2000 PRCA world champion Cody Hancock and 2004 PRCA reserve champion Matt Austin.
The CBR promotes high quality, professional level bull riding.

The Rice and Crawfest features Cajun music, an awards show and a wide variety of entertainment. Eat crawfish, file' gumbo, boiled shrimp and other food. Also donate blood and receive a free bowl of gumbo and T-shirt.
Scheduled performers include Bayou Roux, various local performers, dancers, youth boxing, gymnasts, large craft show and a large antique auto show.
Kiwanis Club of Alvin sponsors.
Annual. Held the 2nd Saturday in April*.

The event begins with the opening of the carnival on the Wednesday night prior to the third weekend. The carnival runs Wednesday through Saturday; with special arm band nights and rides to suit every age group.
Events for Fri. and Sat. include arts & crafts, novelty and food vendors, parade at 10 a.m. on Sat., pet show at 1 p.m., art show and exhibit, door prizes, silent auction, and continuous entertainment in the pavilion.
The Festival is sponsored by the Magnolia Festival Committee and organized through the Kirbyville Chamber of Commerce. All proceeds are used for community development.

Festival showcases Texas' ethnic culture, including Native American, German, Hispanic, Irish, African-American, Polish, Scottish and others. Sample ethnic food, hear music, and observe folk art demonstrations in each area.
Event celebrates the life and times of General Sam Houston with life skills demonstrations, authentic 19th-century dress and hands-on activities. Other features include music, storytellers, dancers, singers and dramatic performances.
General Sam Houston was the first president of the Republic of Texas.
